Monty's Moments!

Monty is our school dog.  He is a cockerpoo, is just over a year old and is owned and cared for by Mrs Dickson.

He loves long walks, strokes and listening to children read.

School dogs have been proven to help develop pupils’ reading skills, improve behaviour, attendance and academic confidence, as well as increasing student understanding of responsibility and develop empathy and nurturing skills.

At St Thomas More Catholic Primary School, we have a school dog to support our staff team in bringing all of these benefits to our pupils.

Please see our School Dog Policy, which includes a risk assessment below.
